Cloud Engineer
Are you a cloud builder with a passion for elegant infrastructure, performance and secure scale? We want to hear from you!
Performativ is a European fintech building secure, scalable infrastructure to power the next generation of wealth management. We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer to help build the platform every engineering team depends on, drive cost and security best practices, and enable developers to ship with confidence.
This is a builder’s role, perfect for someone who thrives on automation, clarity, and enabling others through clean, efficient infrastructure.
You’ll join Mission Control, our Platform Engineering and Reliability team, led by our Lead Cloud Engineer. Mission Control creates secure, self-service platform capabilities that enable product teams to build, deploy, and operate services independently.
What you’ll do 📈
Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK, with a focus on security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security, reliability, operations, performance, and cost.
Build reusable CDK constructs, infrastructure standards, and golden paths that reduce complexity and improve the developer experience across engineering.
Help build secure-by-default platform capabilities that enable product teams to build, deploy, and operate services independently.
Contribute to our reliability practices through SLOs, runbooks, incident tooling, and post-incident improvements.
Treat cloud cost as a first-class engineering concern through tagging, budgeting, usage forecasting, anomaly detection, and eliminating waste.
Support developers on infrastructure best practices, CI/CD pipeline design, and DevSecOps fundamentals.
Contribute to compliance and audit initiatives aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST CSF.
Work with our security specialists, AWS solution architects, and auditors as needed.
What we’re looking for 🎯
3–5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, AWS cloud, or platform engineering.
Hands-on experience building and operating workloads on AWS, including Infrastructure as Code. Experience with AWS CDK is strongly preferred, in any language.
An understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its principles.
A platform engineering mindset focused on reusable capabilities, self-service, and automation.
A proven track record of top academic performance in STEM/Computer Science, or demonstrable success in open-source projects or a portfolio.
Actively leverages AI and agent-assisted engineering workflows to improve productivity, while applying sound engineering judgment and maintaining high quality standards.
Excellent English skills.
Goal-driven and looking for career growth.
A work-from-home setup. This is a full-time role, remote from the Philippines, with working hours that substantially overlap with the team’s working day in Copenhagen.
Experience working within fintech or other regulated industries is a plus.
Technologies you’ll work with 💻
You don’t need experience with every technology listed below. We care far more about strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and your ability to learn, build, and improve systems.
Infrastructure as Code: AWS CDK, primarily in TypeScript, with projects also in Golang and Python.
Compute & Integration: Lambda, Fargate, Docker, Step Functions, EventBridge.
Data & Storage: Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, ElastiCache.
Networking: VPC, VPC Endpoints, Transit Gateway, VPN, PrivateLink, Route 53.
Security & Governance: IAM, AWS Organizations, Security Hub, CloudTrail, AWS Config, AWS Backup.
End User Computing: AWS Workspaces.
Identity & Access: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for SSO, federated access, and conditional access. Bonus: Intune, Defender, and endpoint/device compliance.
Engineering Tooling: GitHub Actions, Docker, container pipelines, cloud cost optimization, and observability tooling.
Wider Engineering Stack: You’ll collaborate with teams building services primarily in Golang and TypeScript, alongside React, React Native, Python, and PHP.
What we can offer you 🌱
Competitive salary and compensation package.
30 days of paid annual leave & HMO contribution.
Fully remote work.
Generous hardware stipends.
Direct access to engineering, product, and leadership.
High-trust, high-ownership culture where your work has real impact.
